Whats been happening…

Well its been 7 months since my last post here. Since then the family and I have moved back to Windy Wellington in NZ and I am now working for Computer Concepts Limited as a Technical Consultant. Things have been very busy and the first gig I had was to design and deploy an active-active VDI deployment for a District Health Board spread across 2 data centers based on the VMware AlwaysOn blueprint. Steep learning curve but enjoyed every long hour of it. Also picked up some great Riverbed Stingray skills in the process. Big thanks goes to Aidan Clarke from Riverbed for flying in and offering exceptional service…a quote from Aidan “I am here until the issue is resolved” and he lived up to those words. Been studying for my next VMware VCAP exam which will be the Desktop flavour (VCAP5-DTA). I sat the exam 2 weeks back and failed due to really bad latency and VMware was nice enough to offer me a free resit which will save me $535. Since April I have put in around 80hrs of study and this will ramp up again next week as the resit in in 4 weeks. Went on another HP 3PAR training course this week for 3 days, possibly the best training I have ever been to, instructors were great and the content was excellent.
